Lange Promoted at RH

Jocelyn Lange has been bumped up at Random House Children's Books, moving from associate manager of subsidiary rights to subsidiary rights manager.

Chalberg to S&S

Terra Chalberg is joining Simon & Schuster's Simon Spotlight Entertainment imprint as associate editor. Chalberg, who got her publishing start with Scribner in 2002, has also worked in film production and for the United Talent Agency.

Change at F&S Assoc.

Franklin & Siegal Associates has been named literary scout for both Feltrinelli Editore (in Italy) and Karl Blessing Verlag (in Germany). Tilo Eckardt, current editor-in-chief of Heyne Books hardcover fiction (which F&S has repped for a number of years), will also become editorial director at Karl Blessing Verlag, reporting to publisher Ulrich Genzler.

Hodell Joins FSG

Courtney Hodell has been hired as executive editor at Farrar, Straus & Giroux. Hodell, who's worked for Houghton Mifflin, Viking and Random House since she began in the business, was most recently executive editor at HarperCollins. Over the years she's worked with such authors as Michael Chabon, Mary Karr and David Means.

Lew to Leave DMP

Isaac Lew, director of sales and new business development at Digital Manga Publishing, has resigned and is leaving the company effective last week. Lew and DMP are credited with helping to introduce yaoi manga (also known as Boys Love) to U.S. readers. Lew says he's looking to work in other parts of the pop culture business. "It's nice to be considered a yaoi pioneer, but I'm looking for a new direction."

Berkowitz to Meredith

Lisa Berkowitz has been named executive editor at Meredith Books. Most recently president of her own marketing communications firm, Berkowitz & Associates, Berkowitz will be looking to acquire titles for Meredith's growing publishing program in her new position.
