Tim Brazier has been named publicity manager at Basic Books. Moving from HarperCollins, where he was a senior publicist, Brazier will head publicity efforts for all the imprints of the Basic Books Group (Basic, Basic Civitas, Counterpoint, Westview).

Cathy Lewandowski has been named senior publicist for Thomas Nelson's W Publishing Group; she arrives from Katcher Vaughn & Bailey Public Relations. Stephanie Newton, who was most recently communications coordinator at Vanderbilt University, joins as publicist for Nelson Books.

Michele Crim and Zak Nelson have joined Ten Speed Press. Crim, previously senior director of marketing at National Book Network, joins as director of sales. Nelson, most recently marketing and publicity director at Heyday, joins as senior publicist and marketing specialist.

Kristen Weber has been named senior editor at New American Library. Beginning April 3, Weber will oversee the house's mystery list and will also acquire titles in other genres. Weber was most recently a senior editor at Warner Books, working for the house's Mysterious Press imprint.

Motricity has hired Elizabeth Mackey as v-p and general manager of the company's eReader division. Mackey held executive posts at Audible and Franklin Electronic Publishers.
