Forward into Fall: Fall 2005 Adult Announcements

Industry pundits may have declared this fall the season of fiction, but true-life current events still figure big in publishers' forthcoming lists, which feature dozens of books about the Iraq conflict and a whole new crop of Bush-bashers. Also this fall, several titles celebrate such cultural icons as the late John Lennon and Johnny Carson, and the still-breathing New Yorker magazine. And those French women who don't get fat? Prepare to meet their ever-slim sisters—Japanese women and Mediterranean women. And about that fall fiction: look for new books by E.L. Doctorow, Dean Koontz, Paul Auster, Candace Bushnell and Scott Turow.
