Promos at Hachette

Jennifer Romanello and Colin Fox have both risen through the ranks at the Hachette (formerly Time Warner) Book Group. Fox was promoted from Warner editor to senior editor while Romanello has moved up from Warner director of publicity to v-p, director of publicity.

Norton to Vintage

Furaha Norton has joined Random House's Vintage/Anchor imprint as an editor. Most recently she was an associate editor at Oxford University Press.

Akers Up At Other

Terrie Akers has been promoted from publicity associate to publicist at Other Press. Akers joined the company in 2004 as publicity assistant.

Tolley & Assoc. Gets Bazar Biz

Barbara Tolley & Associates has been named literary scout for the Scandinavian firm Bazar Forlag. Lena Sanfridsson, formerly of Damm, has been named Nordic countries editor-in-chief for Bazar.

Lellos, LaReau & Amitie to Scholastic

Kara LaReau, Stacey Lellos and Julie Amitie have joined Scholastic. LaReau comes on board as executive editor at Scholastic Press, decamping from her position as senior editor at Candlewick Press. Lellos has rejoined the company, after leaving in 2004, as director of licensed publishing. Amitie has been named director of retail marketing and brand management; most recently she was director of marketing for Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing.

Shear Rises At Thomas Nelson

Rick Shear has been promoted from key account manager to director of key accounts at Thomas Nelson. Shear has been with the publisher for more than 15 years.
