Cathy Liu, formerly a controller at the Hudson Software Co., will oversee all financial accounting and reporting for Tokyopop's Japan-based operations and holding company.

Renée Sedliar, formerly an editor at Harper San Francisco, has been named an editor.

Jackie Thompson, formerly with Timber Press and New Harbinger, has been named director of trade sales.

Kate McKean, after working with agents at 80 Fifth Avenue, has joined Dystel & Goderich Literary Management as an agent and associate rights person, specializing in sports, pop culture, cookbooks, health, and literary and commercial fiction.

Sheila Levine, formerly assistant director and editorial director, has been promoted to associate director and publisher at the University of California Press. Rebecca Simon, previously assistant director and director of journals, has been promoted to associate director for journals and digital publishing. Anna Weidman has been named assistant director and CFO, responsible for intellectual property and sub rights. Deborah Kirshman has been named assistant director and director of development and public relations.
