NEGRO WITH A VIEW

Damali Ayo, a conceptual and performance artist whose works investigate race, made an appearance at Elliot Bay Books in Seattle to promote her new satirical book on race relations, How to Rent a Negro (Lawrence Hill Books). Ayo is at the far left.

   
DUCTS DOWNTOWN

Ducts.org, a nonprofit Web site that showcases personal stories, held the latest in a series of monthly readings at the KGB Bar in NYC's EastVillage. The readings featured stories from How Not to Greet Famous People, an anthology of Ducts stories published by Greenpoint Press, an independent publisher founded by Ducts.org. DUCTS DRAWS A CROWD

A big crowd turned out at the KGB Bar to hear readings from How Not to Greet Famous People, an anthology of personal stories from Ducts.org.

BAMBI GOES TO ANIME EXPO

This years Anime Expo in Anaheim, Calif., drew more than 30,000 anime and manga fans. Manga publisher Digital Manga Publishing was on hand to promote its new girl punk adventure manga Bambi and Her Pink Gun.
