Reid Awarded Humanitarian Prize in San Diego

PW Senior news editor and PW Comics Week coeditor Calvin Reid was awarded the Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award by the San Diego Comic-con International at this year's Will Eisner Comics Industry Awards ceremony in San Diego. The award, named after the late Warner Bros. animator and cartoonist, is presented annually for charity and mentoring work. According to Jackie Estrada, coordinator of the Eisner Awards, Reid, "has worked behind the scenes in the publishing industry for the last 20 years to get comics and graphic novels recognized as a legitimate literature."
