Weak Half for Chains

by Staff -- Publishers Weekly, 9/4/2006

Because of a production error, several figures on last week's table showing the revenue of the major chains were wrong. The corrected numbers (at right), show second-quarter sales for the chains down 2.3% in the second quarter and off 0.5% for the first half of the year. Sales at Barnes & Noble and Books-a-Million were virtually flat in the first six months, while sales at Borders were down 1.4%
