E-Reader Wars Coming?

With Sony finally set to show off its delayed Sony eReader at a press conference in New York September 26, the possibility that the electronics giant may face new competition in the reading device market surfaced yesterday in post on the engadget Web site concerning the Amazon Kindle. According to the site, the reader features a 6 inch display, 256MB internal storage a “smallish” two-thumb cursor bar, scroll wheel and headphone jack, and weigh just over 10 ounces. E-books will likely be available through the Kindle Store on Amazon.
No one at Amazon was available to comment on the post; price and a launch date, if any, haven’t been released.
