AMS Leaves Publishers Scrambling

Last Friday’s bankruptcy filing by AMS came as a complete surprise to publishers and has left companies scrambling to find ways to cope with the situation. The wholesaler/distributor owed its top 20 unsecured creditors about $170 million, and it is unlikely publishers will see any of that money any time soon.
