Kreizman To Basic

Maris Kreizman has been hired as an associate editor at Perseus's Basic Books imprint. Kreizman arrives from Free Press, where she was also an associate editor. She will acquire and edit titles for Basic, Counterpoint and Basic Civitas, focusing on literary fiction, music, pop culture, narrative nonfiction and memoir.

McGuire To Norton

Thomas "Tim" McGuire has been named head of production and manufacturing at Norton. McGuire, who was most recently an independent consultant, is a veteran of the industry with more than 30 years of experience; he's held tenures at S&S and St. Martin's Press.

Schulz Up at Harcourt

Andrea Schulz has been promoted to editor-in-chief of Harcourt. Schulz, who has been at the house for five years, has also worked for Da Capo, Henry Holt and Ballantine.

Proimos Starts Firm

James Proimos, a children's book author and illustrator, has launched Proimos Management. The firm is dedicated to matching illustrators and writers on projects.

Buchanan Up At Berkley

Ginjer Buchanan has been promoted to editor-in-chief of Berkley's Ace and Roc imprints. She's been with Berkley since 1984 and edits such SF stalwarts as Alastair Reynolds and Charles Stross.
