Hires at Kensington

Kensington made a number of additions to its editorial department this week. Rakia Clarke, most recently at Viking, has been named editor. Adam Korn, arriving from Crown, has also been named editor, primarily working for the Citadel Press imprint. Joining as editorial assistants are Peter Senftleben, Mercedes Fernandez and Megan Records.

Schupf to HC

Margot Schupf has been named group senior v-p and associate publisher of HarperCollins's Collins imprint. Schupf, who will oversee the imprint's marketing and design units and manage the editorial operation, arrives from Rodale, where she was v-p, editorial director of lifestyle books and media.

Sinisi to NBN

Linda Sinisi has joined National Book Network as special sales manager. Sinisi arrives from Harry N. Abrams, where she was director of special markets. Sinisi has previously worked for Hachette and the ABA.

Changes at Midpoint

Midpoint Trade Books has unveiled a new management structure: Gail Kump, executive v-p, has been named marketing director for frontlist and backlist; Chris Bell, executive v-p, has been named sales director with a goal of opening new markets; and Julie Harrison has been named communications services manager.

Perlman Up At S&S

Michael Perlman has been promoted from national accounts manager to director of distribution services at Simon & Schuster. Perlman had been responsible for selling S&S adult products into Sam's Clubs. Before joining S&S, Perlman was at CDS.

Ashton to RD

Stacey Ashton has been hired as director of sales and marketing at Reader's Digest Trade Publishing. Ashton, who is replacing Debra Polansky, arrives from the U.K.-based illustrated nonfiction book publisher MQ Publications, where she was v-p of sales and marketing. Polansky will continue to consult for RD on a freelance basis.
