Penguin Names New Digital Director

-- Publishers Weekly, 4/20/2007

The Penguin Group has appointed Genevieve Shore to the newly created role of global digital director for the company's worldwide operations. Shore has been group sales director for Penguin in the U.K. In her new position, Shore will report to Penguin chief executive John Makinson, and will lead Penguin's digital strategy across the globe, looking to identify and facilitate new initiatives, partnerships and innovations around the business. Shore has been with Penguin since 2002, joining from Random House as U.K. sales director.  She will be based in London but will spend a significant proportion of her time in New York.

Succeeding Shore in her sales position in the U.K. is Mike Symons, Penguin's commercial and trading director.
