PowerHouse Goes the Classic Route
by Rachel Deahl, PW Daily -- Publishers Weekly, 5/25/2007
Brooklyn-based powerHouse Books is launching its own offbeat classics line and will make them available exclusively through Urban Outfiffters for a short period. The titles will be culled from the publisher’s pop culture, fashion and photography-heavy archives. Dubbed pH Classics, the series will launch with four titles: Look: Portraits Backstage at Olympus Fashion Week by Timothy Greenfield Sanders, Made in the UK: The Music of Attitude 1977-83 by Janette Beckman, Time Frames: City Pictures by Michael Spano and Touch Me I’m Sick by Charles Peterson. The line will be available in November 2007 at the Urban Outfiffers, then distributed to other retailers in spring 2008. Set to retail for $18, the four hardcovers will, according to pH associate publisher Craig Cohen, offer some of the house’s signature titles at a more customer-friendly price.
