Reading List from 'PW,' AARP

by Staff -- Publishers Weekly, 6/11/2007

In one of the first initiatives under the recently announced partnership between Publishers Weekly and the AARP, PW editor-in-chief Sara Nelson and AARP Publications editor-in-chief Hugh Delehanty have selected 15 titles that they believe will appeal to AARP members. Titles in the “Books for Grownups” program feature books for, by and about boomers and others in the over-50 age bracket, and include five picks each in fiction, nonfiction and self-help/lifestyle. Recommendations will be made every two months, and the selections will appear on the AARP's book portal (www.aarpthemagazine.org/books) and on the PW site (www.publishersweekly.com/booksforgrownups2).

Among the current selections are Sylvia: A Novel by Leonard Michaels; The Encyclopedia of Sixties Cool by Chris Strudder; and Judith Stone's When She Wore White.

Last month, PW and AARP announced that they had signed a joint-venture agreement to create a variety of products and events that would appeal to AARP members.
