Shannon to Berkery Noyes

Christopher Shannon has joined the investment bank Berkery Noyes as managing director. Shannon, a veteran of the consumer and b-to-b media industry, will be providing strategic mergers and acquisitions advice to U.S. and international media clients.

Kulka to HUP

John Kulka has been named executive editor-at-large at Harvard University Press. Kulka, who was most recently senior editor for humanities and politics at Yale University Press, will acquire books across a range of disciplines in his newly created position at Harvard. At Yale he acquired such titles as The Craftsman and America at the Crossroads in addition to founding the annual playwright competition, the Yale Drama Series.

Swords to Blackwell

David Swords has been named v-p of sales and marketing for Oregon-based Blackwell Book Services. Swords arrives from YBP Library, where he was v-p of international sales.

Boyd Up at HC

Christine Boyd has been promoted from director of marketing to v-p of marketing at HarperCollins’s Harper imprint. Boyd joined the publisher in 2000 and has worked with such authors as Michael Crichton, Barbara Kingsolver, Michael Chabon and Vikram Chandra.
