Mercandetti, Murphy Up at RH

In her first changes since being named senior v-p and editorial director of the Random House Publishing Group, Jennifer Hershey had announced two promotions. Susan Mercandetti and Will Murphy have both been promoted to executive editor, reporting directly Hershey. Mercandetti, who’s been at Random since 2005, has acquired such books as Tim Russert’s Wisdom of Our Fathers and Lee and Bob Woodruff’s In An Instant. Murphy, hired in 1999 as a senior editor at Modern Library, has worked with such authors as Bernard Henri-Levy and Philip Zimbardo.
