Wainwright to Crown

-- Publishers Weekly, 7/18/2007 8:21:00 AM

Katie Wainwright will take up the post of Vice President, Executive Director of Publicity at Crown Publishing Group as of August 1, 2007. For the last seven years, Wainwright was Executive Director of Publicity and Associate Publisher of Trade Paperbacks at Hyperion, where she worked on books by Michael J. Fox and Steve Martin, among others. Before that, she was a publicist at Little, Brown, working with authors such as Malcolm Gladwell. Now she will be responsible for leading the Crown publicity team, which handles the Shaye Areheart, Clarkson Potter, Potter Craft, Potter Style, Harmony, Three Rivers Press, and Crown Business imprints. In a letter sent today to the Crown Publishing Group staff, Jenny Frost, President and Publisher, praised Wainwright’s “great expertise and her upbeat, collaborative work ethic.” Wainwright replaces Tina Constable, who was made Vice President and Publisher for Crown Publishers, Crown Business, and Crown Forum in June.
