Crown Wins Beschloss Auction

By Matthew Thornton -- Publishers Weekly, 11/29/2007 6:51:00 AM

Sean Desmond at Crown won an auction for a new book by acclaimed historian Michael Beschloss via Esther Newberg at ICM, who sold world rights. Currently untitled, this will be a major history of wartime U. S. presidential leadership through two centuries, and publication is tentatively scheduled for 2012.

Beschloss, who serves as the NBC News Presidential Historian, has written nine books on American presidents, most recently this year's bestselling Presidential Courage and 2002's The Conquerors. His last four books were published by Simon & Schuster, where Beschloss worked with Alice Mayhew and then Michael Korda, who has since retired.
