IPS to Sell Graphic Arts Titles

Effective on January 1, 2008, the sales force of Ingram Publisher Services will sell Graphic Arts Center books to the trade.
Graphic Arts associate publisher Doug Pfeiffer said the company originally signed on with IPS in Febuary for its warehousing services as part of the Portland, Ore.-based publisher’s emergence from Chapter 11. Recently Pfieffer said GAC has been evaluating its own sales efforts—and while its commission rep force had served them well for many years, he said the company thought IPS could help them sell more titles to the trade. Ingram has a minority investment in GAC.
“It’s a logical step and an extension of our relationship with IPS,” said Pfeiffer. The move will allow GAC to expand its frontlist in all three of its imprints—Graphic Arts Books, Alaska Northwest Books and West Winds Press.
