by Staff -- Publishers Weekly, 1/14/2008

Black, Groton To Globe Pequot

Hilary Black, who worked as an editor at Simon & Schuster before going to the magazine side (first as a founding editor of More and most recently as editor-in-chief of Tango), has been named editor at large at Globe Pequot. John Groton has been named executive director, trade and special sales. Groton arrives from a 17-year-stint at Random House. Also at GPP, Michelle Lewy has been promoted to senior v-p of sales and new product development.

McKenna, Crawford Up At Pocket

Lauren McKenna and Maggie Crawford have been promoted at Pocket Books. McKenna has moved up from senior editor to executive editor, and Crawford, who was v-p and editorial director, will now focus solely on editorial duties, acquiring and editing hardcovers and paperbacks.

Promos at Abrams

Susan Van Metre has been promoted to editorial director for Amulet Books, a children's imprint of Harry N. Abrams. Van Metre has been with Amulet since its launch in spring 2004, acquiring and editing fiction for middle-grade and YA readers. In another promotion, Chad Beckerman has been named art director for Amulet and Abrams Books for Young Readers.
