With one month to go in 2007, sales were down in only the mass market and trade paperback segments, according to estimates from the 81 publishers who reported sales to the AAP. Sales through November were down 5.4% in mass market, despite a 1.1% dip in returns. In the elhi segment, sales for the 11 months were up only 2.6%, lower than expectations. While sales to adoption states rose 7.8% in the year to date, sales in the supplementary market were down 7.5%, while sales in open territories were up only 0.8%.
