Sales in 2007 were up in every book segment except for mass market paper, according to figures supplied by the 81 publishers who take part in the AAP's monthly sales report program. The biggest gain was in the children's hardcover category, where Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows publisher Scholastic is one of 14 companies that gives data to the AAP. In the college segment, where the majority of sales are generated by 12 reporting companies, sales rose 6.5%, while sales in the elhi segment, where industry sales also mainly come from AAP reporting houses, rose 2.7%. Sales in the trade segments are more fragmented, but the AAP figures show solid gains for adult hardcover, a flat trade paperback category and good growth for the children's paperback segment. The 13 publishers that reported e-book sales totaled revenue of $31.7 million last year.
