Squire Goes Solo

Gilda Squire has left her position as director of publicity at HarperCollins's Amistad imprint to start her own PR firm. Gilda Squire Media Relations will provide publicity, booking, event planning and media coaching services for authors and will expand into other areas, including film and TV.

Lynch Up at Riverhead

Megan Lynch has been promoted to senior editor at Riverhead Books. Lynch, who has been at the Penguin imprint for five years, has published such books as Dinaw Mengetsu's The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears and Ellis Avery's The Teahouse Fires. Before joining Riverhead, Lynch worked for Doubleday and Little, Brown.

Plesser, Beresford Up At RHPG

Abby Plesser and Lea Beresford have both been promoted to assistant editor at Random House Publishing Group. Plesser started at RH in 2004 as an intern at Knopf, and moved to RHPG as an editorial assistant in 2005. She's worked on, among other titles, Anna Quindlen's Rise and Shine. Beresford joined the publisher in 2005 and previously worked for the Doubleday and RH imprints.
