Pike to Plume

Signe Pike has been named editor at Plume. Pike arrives from Ballantine, where she acquired Tom DeHaven’s It’s Superman! and Alexandra Potter’s Me and Mr. Darcy. At Plume she will focus on literary, historical and mainstream fiction, as well as some narrative nonfiction in the areas of pop culture, food and memoir.

Tipton to IDW

Denton J. Tipton has joined IDW Publishing as an editor. Tipton, a former journalist and comics retailer, was most recently an editor at the San Diego Union-Tribune. At IDW he will, among other things, oversee the house’s Transformers line of books.

Washam Up at Penguin

Alexis Washam has been promoted to editor at Penguin Books. Washam, who started at the publisher in 2004 as an assistant, has edited books by, among others, J.M. Coetzee, Julia Alvarez and Sebastian Barry.
