People: Patterson to Sterling

Karen Patterson has been named v-p of trade and institutional sales at Sterling. Patterson arrives from Random House, where she’s currently v-p and director of sales. She will start at Sterling on April 30.

Patty Goldstein and Risa Kahn have both joined the sales team at Phaidon Press. Goldstein was named Northeast sales rep and Kahn West Coast sales rep. Gold , who will be based in New York City, was most recently sales coordinator at Informa Healthcare publisher; Kahn, who will work out of L.A., was most recently sales manager of the Taschen Hollywood store.

Jennifer Huwer and Karen Fink have both been named senior publicists in the Random House publicity department. Huwer started at RH in 2003 and Fink joined the publisher in 2004.
