Sentinel Acquires Huckabee Book

By Rachel Deahl -- Publishers Weekly, 4/24/2008 7:50:00 AM

Sentinel has signed another political heavy. After acquiring Donald Rumsfeld's memoir earlier this month, the Penguin imprint has gotten its hands on a forthcoming title from former Republican presidential hopeful (and Arkansas Governor) Mike Huckabee.

The deal, for world rights with audio, for the currently untitled work was brokerd by Frank Breeden of Premiere Authors Literary Agency. Sentinel senior editor Tim Sullivan will edit; the book is slated for a November 18 publication.

The book will detail Huckabee's come-out-of-nowhere presidential run, in which he managed to become a contender with less funding and notoriety than many of the other Republican candidates. Adrian Zackheim, president and publisher of Sentinel, said the book will give readers details on "what happens next" for Huckabee. "Governor Huckabee offers straight talk on how we can renew America through limited government and a sense of national community. He will also give his four million supporters the real inside story of how their amazing support ignited a grassroots movement," Zackheim said.
