Adriana Dominguez has been laid off at HarperCollins. Dominguez was head of the Children's Rayo imprint and, according to a company spokesperson, Maria Gomez will continue to handle Rayo. Although the move brings into question the stability of Rayo in the children's division, the spokesperson added that “HarperCollins Children’s is totally committed to Rayo.”
At RHPG, two promotions. Ryan Doherty has been promoted from editorial assistant to assistant editor. Doherty joined RHPG in 2006. Paul Taunton has been promoted to editor, focusing on ESPN Books. Taunton, who came on board in 2000 working in the sales department and left to get his M.A., rejoined the company in 2003 as an editorial assistant.
Kate Baker and Margaret Erdman have both joined Wayne State University Press. Baker, who was a development liaison and campaign coordinator at the Henry Ford Foundation, has been named director of development. Erdman, who was v-p of marking, public and academic markets for Gale, was named marketing and sales director.
