Veteran book publishing executive Susan Driscoll is taking a new position as executive v-p and general manager of books at Wolters Kluwer Health. Driscoll was most recently CEO of iUniverse, which Author Solutions bought last September.
Driscoll will be based in Philadelphia. On June 17, Driscoll wrote on her iUniverse blog, “I’ll be moving on in my journey to a new challenge that is closer to home, but I won’t be leaving iUniverse altogether. I’ve agreed to stay involved as a special advisor to the board.”
Gordon Macomber, president and CEO of Wolters Kluwer Health, Professional & Education, said, “The appointment of Susan Driscoll brings us extensive electronic publishing experience.” Macomber said Driscoll will help the business take its books’ and journals’ content “into the next era of new media.”
Driscoll also previously served as COO of college publisher Bedford, Freeman & Worth, and has held senior management roles at HarperCollins and Holt, Rinehart & Winston.
