Ford Leaving Hachette

-- Publishers Weekly, 9/4/2008 12:53:00 PM

Beth Ford has tendered her resignation as COO of the Hachette Book Group USA and opted to leave the book business altogether. Ford, who will depart the company at the end of the month, has taken a job as a senior executive at the consumer goods packager International Flavors and Fragrances. Ford joined Hachette (from Scholastic) in August 2007. HBGUSA CEO David Young said his search for a new COO will begin immediately and that, in the interim, he will oversee the departments Young was handling--IT, customer service, distribution, fulfillment and strategic planning.
