Keating Joins Endeavor

By Rachel Deahl -- Publishers Weekly, 9/15/2008 9:18:00 AM

Endeavor is padding its New York book division even further. After Kirby Kim left Vigliano to join the New York lit arm of the L.A. talent agency, news comes today that Trena Keating has also been brought on as an agent. Keating was most recently editor-in-chief of Penguin's Dutton imprint.

Richard Abate, head of Endeavor's New York book division, said Keating "brings a wealth of publishing knowledge and impeccable taste and professionalism.”

Keating, who's worked with a wide range of author/celebrities--Jenny McCarthy, Eminem, Diane Johnson and Peter Hedges among others--joined Penguin in 2001 as editor-in-chief of Plume. Before Plume, she was a senior editor at HarperCollins.
