Barney Rosset, Publisher and American Hero, to be Focus of New Film, reports New York Times
Rosset fought censorship on such titles as Lady Chatterley’s Lover and Henry Miller’s Tropic of Cancer. He was the publisher who brought Samuel Beckett to these shores. On November 19 he will receive a lifetime achievement award from the National Book Foundation. He is also the subject of a new documentary, Obscene, which opens this Friday. U.K. Publisher Doubles Jewel of Medina First Printing, reports The Bookseller
British publisher Gibson Square is doubling to 20,000-copies the first printing of The Jewel of Medina because of demand

Suite Francaise Exhibit at Museum of Jewish Heritage, reports AP
A new exhibit at the Museum of Jewish Heritage centers on Irene Nemirovsky’s Suite Francaise, a novel about life in France after the Nazi invasion in 1940. Nemirosvky died in Auschwitz in 1942 and the novel was not discovered by her daughter until the 1990s

American Psycho to Broadway, reports Reuters
Bret Easton Ellis’ 1991 book is headed to the Broadway stage, although no ETA was announced. The Johnson-Roessler Company, The Collective and XYZ Films have partnered to acquire, develop and produce the live stage version of the novel. American Psycho has sold over 1.6 million copies
