Del Rey Lands Koontz's Second Graphic Novel Plus Two Murphy Fantasies

By Lynn Andriani -- Publishers Weekly, 10/8/2008 7:26:00 AM

Del Rey editor-in-chief Betsy Mitchell has acquired world rights to Dean Koontz's second graphic novel starring his character Odd Thomas. Koontz's first graphic novel, In Odd We Trust, written by Koontz and Queenie Chan and illustrated by Chan, which was a PW graphic novel bestseller. The new book, also set in the time period prior to the first Odd Thomas novel, will again be illustrated by Chan, with the adaptation by Fred Van Lente. Nancy Cushing-Jones of Broadthink packaged the series.

Mitchell also signed a world rights deal with C.E. Murphy, author of The Queen's Bastard and other fantasy novels, for two new contemporary paranormal fantasies, tentatively titled Truthseeker and Wayfinder. Jennifer Jackson of the Donald Maass Literary Agency negotiated the deal.
