Granta magazine announced two new publishing partnerships today: with Rizzoli (an imprint of RCS Libri SpA) in Italy, and with the newly launched Duomo Ediciones (Gruppo Editoriale Mauri Spagnol) in Spain. Both companies will release their own local language editions of Granta under license from the magazine’s head office in London starting in 2009.
Granta managing director David Graham said, “Creating international partnerships is a very exciting development for Granta.” The partnerships are in addition to the magazine’s existing arrangement with Roberto Feith at Editora Objetiva, the publishers of the Brazilian edition of Granta.
Granta was founded in 1979 and published its 100th issue earlier this year. The star-studded quarterly features fiction and nonfiction by writers such as Bill Bryson, Arundhati Roy and Zadie Smith.
