-- Publishers Weekly, 12/10/2008

Plans are coming together for the debut Christian Book Expo in Dallas, Texas next year from March 20 to 22. To date, close to 60 publishers have signed up and 157 author are confirmed with expectations for more. There will be special author events and panels and the show's Web site (www.ChristianBookExpo.com) will be re-launching soon with all the latest details, including author bios and head shots. The Christian Book Awards Gala will also take place at the beginning of CBE and it will be a pre-ticketed event, open to the public.

Created and sponsored by ECPA (Evangelical Christian Publishers Association), the official retail partner for the show is Family Christian Stores. Press registration is open and opportunities for on site (even on show floor) live interviews can be booked. The Expo is open to the public and there are expectations for at least 10,000 registrants.

There will be five official panel discussions sponsored by ECPA and Christianity Today. More details to come but the line-up as of mid-December includes the following panels: Does the God of the Bible Exist, and What Difference Does It Make? with panelists Lee Strobel, William Lane Craig and Jim Denison; Living Christianly in a Post-Christian Culture with panelists Andy Crouch, Donald Miller and Ruth Haley Barton; A Guided Tour of Heaven and Hell with panelists Don Piper, Sam Storms, Randy Alcorn and Jim Packer; The Emerging Church with Kevin DeYoung, Ted Kluck (Moody), Tony Jones and Scot McKnight.
