RH Will Be at BEA

by Jim Milliot -- Publishers Weekly, 2/9/2009

One of the reasons Reed Exhibitions pulled out of Canada was the decision by Random House of Canada to drop out of BEC and not support the proposed consumer show. That won't be the case with Random House in the U.S., as spokesperson Stuart Applebaum said the country's largest publisher will be “active and visible” at BEA, although its floor exhibit will have a new look. “Our booth on the exhibition floor will be quite interesting and very different from previous years,” Applebaum said, adding that details about its floor space are still being finalized. He said Random will participate in all BEA author events, but said the publisher was evaluating its plans for “special events” such as parties and author dinners.
