Sterling Inks Co-Pub Deal with Natural History Museum

By Rachel Deahl -- Publishers Weekly, 2/24/2009 2:55:00 PM

Sterling Publishing has inked a three-year licensing deal with the American Museum of Natural History to publish a series of branded science books. According to Sterling publisher Jason Prince, the deal will allow the house to partner with the museum on a wide range of titles, from children's to adult, as well as kits. The licensing deal is expected to yield a more than 20-title series, with the first titles slated to appear on Sterling's spring 2010 list.

All of the books in the series will prominently display the Museum’s logo. According to a statement from Sterling, the Museum will have a significant editorial role in the process, with the ability to choose the topics of the books, approve authors and provide input when needed.
