Lerner to Distribute ARC Press

-- Publishers Weekly, 3/23/2009 9:21:00 AM

Lerner Publishing Group has signed a distribution agreement with ARC Press, a newly-created division of American Reading Company, the educational publisher founded in suburban Philadelphia 11 years ago best known for its “100 Book Challenge” program. Beginning this fall, Lerner will carry 87 new ARC Press titles designed specifically for beginning readers with photographs and word repetition, meant to help beginning readers associate words with their corresponding images. The 87 titles will be released in a paperback format and marketed to classroom wholesalers and distributors, as well as directly to teachers and school districts. Some of the ARC Press titles will also be made available in Spanish.

Lerner also acts as distributor for U.S. publishers Darby Creek and Kane/Miller Publishing, and for U.K. publisher Andersen’s Press.
