Fictionwise Launches Free eReader E-book App for Blackberry

By Craig Morgan Teicher -- Publishers Weekly, 3/24/2009 7:53:00 AM

Fictionwise, the e-book etailor recently acquired by Barnes & Noble, has launched a beta version of its popular eReader app for the Blackberry smartphone, making Fictionwise’s 50,000 title catalog available on another device (eReader apps were already available for iPhone, Palm, Windows and Windows Mobile devices and Mac computers). The blackberry eReader app works just like the popular iPhone version, allowing readers to wirelessly purchase and download books directly to the smartphone from the Fictionwise and eReader catalogs through the Blackberry Web browser. Users can adjust the font size and utilize bookmarks, a linked table of contents and text search. eReader and Lexcycle’s Stanza app are the most popular iPhone and iPod Touch e-book apps, though Stanza does not currently have a Blackberry version of its app.
