Mackey to OUP

John Mackey has been named Barnes & Noble national accounts manager at Oxford University Press. Mackey was most recently international territory manager at Baker & Taylor; before that, he handled the southern territories for Dearborn/Kaplan Publishing.

Callahan to ProQuest

Annie Callahan has been named COO at ProQuest. Callahan was most recently Bowker president and CEO, and, at ProQuest, she will continue to have overall responsibility for Bowker. Both companies are owned by Cambridge Information Group. Callahan will report to Marty Kahn, who is ProQuest CEO.

McGarity to HBG

Todd McGarity has joined Hachette Book Group as v-p, distribution sales and services. McGarity will be responsible for overseeing all relationships with existing distribution services clients as well as working to expand HBG's distribution business. He will report to COO Ken Michaels. McGarity was most recently the director of client development for Random House.

Oswald to Counterpoint

Denise Oswald has been named editorial director of Soft Skull Press and senior editor of Counterpoint. Oswald, who will start on April 20 and be based in New York City, was most recently senior editor at FSG, where she also oversaw the Faber and Faber list. She's worked with, among others, Colin Beavan and Courtney Love.
