Schroder to Leave Candlewick

By Judith Rosen -- Publishers Weekly, 5/14/2009 8:36:00 AM

Somerville, Mass.-based Candlewick Press continues to realign its sales and marketing areas and will bring its digital development and theatrical/marketing liaison work in-house. As a result, Friday will be the last day for Charlie Schroder, who has worked with Candlewick on licensing and development for the past three years, most recently consulting as v-p at large. Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles will continue to represent Candlewick’s film and TV rights.

Last month the company announced the appointment of John Mendelson as sales director starting May 18 and a new arrangement with Random House to handle specialty retail accounts beginning May 1. Schroder plans to set up her own shop, called Charlie and Company, in New York City, which will specialize in brand, market and business development initiatives.
