HarperOne's Little Black Book Now Online

HarperOne is replacing the print version of The Little Black Book—its guide listing authors it publishes in the self-help, spirituality, personal growth and religion categories—with a free, searchable, online database. The Little Black Book has existed in print for the past five years, updated annually. Harper switched to an online version following media requests, and Sheeda Jamsheed, who is in the company’s marketing department, and developed it for the Web.
Users can search by category, author name, book title or keywords. Each entry includes an author bio, book description, photos of the book jacket and author, and an automatically generated list of similar titles and authors. The site has links to authors’ websites and to their HarperCollins homepages.
Harper will update the database each season and as new titles are added.
“The Little Black Book has been a way for us to share with the media and other venues our diverse list of proven experts they can trust and utilize in stories or at events. As curators of content, we take that level of trust very seriously,” said Claudia Riemer Boutote, v-p, associate publisher.
