Egmont to Launch Children’s List at BEA
Egmont will debut its first children’s list, made up of both U.S. and U.K. authors, at BEA this week.
A New Publisher for Broadway Books
Diana Salvatore, formerly of Ladies Home Journal, has been named publisher of the Broadway Books imprint of Crown Publishing.
Once-Banned eReader Now Available on iPhone
The Eucalyptus Reader, banned because it enabled users to read the Karma Sutra, is now in the App store. It’s a client for the public domain books of the Gutenberg project, and people are excited about it.
Random House Makes iPhone E-Books Available in U.K.
Random House has launched a number of its mass market titles as stand alone iPhone apps in the U.K.
Alice Munro Wins Man Booker International Prize
The biannual prize is given for a contribution to “fiction on the world stage,” and went to Chinua Achebe in 2007.
