Panelmania: Comics from MoCCA Art Festival

Excerpts from three comics that were available at MoCCA Art Festival, held on June 6th and 7th in New York City: Jupiter Napex by Patrick Thomas Glass, Open Spaces Closed Places by Saicoink, and Yearbooks by Nicholas Breutzman and Shaun Feltz.

Jupiter Napex is a science fiction by recent School of Visual Arts graduate Patrick Thomas Glass. The comic is an oversized, 4 color process silkscreened book.

     

     

  


In the following excerpt from Open Spaces Closed Places Issue# 3, a school story with supernatural elements, there is student council diplomacy, banter between friends, and delinquency. Open Spaces Closed Places is by
Saicoink. Also included in this excerpt is the color insert that was included in the mini available at MoCCA.

     

     

     


Yearbooks, written by Nicholas Breutzman and Shaun Feltz, drawn by Nicholas Breutzman, and colored by Raighne Hogan, is published by
2D CLOUD, a Minneapolis, Minnesota based publisher. Yearbooks follows the awkward relationship between a high school student and his art teacher-mentor and it emphasizes the weird and grotesque in human relationships.
