Today, Good Morning America had a visit from Danielle Steel, whose new book is Matters of the Heart (Delacorte Press, 978-0385340274, $27; Brilliance Audio abridged CD, $26.99).
On The Bob Edwards Show, playwright, screenwriter and director Arthur Laurents discussed his memoir Mainly on Directing: Gypsy, West Side Story, and Other Musicals (Knopf, 978-0307270887, $25).
This evening on The Daily Show: author and journalist Peter Laufer enters The Dangerous World of Butterflies: The Startling Subculture of Criminals, Collectors, and Conservationists (The Lyons Press, 978-1599215556, $24.95). PW’s review had this to say: “Turning from the Iraq War, Laufer decided to focus on the presumably innocuous business of butterflies. There, he found yet more violence, corruption and unanswered questions, resulting in another compelling all-angles examination. In casual prose, Laufer delivers an absorbing science lesson for fans of the colorful bugs.”
Paula White Today TV interviews Alicia Britt Chole about Finding an Unseen God: Reflections of a Former Atheist (Bethany House, 978-0764206023; $13.99).
Tonight, The Late Show with David Letterman chats with popular TV personality and restaurateur Emeril Lagasse, whose latest cookbook is Emeril at the Grill: A Cookbook for All Seasons (HarperStudio, 978-0061742743, $24.99). PW wrote “After a dozen cookbooks, Lagasse is unflagging in his enthusiasm and encouragement for home cooks, evidenced by this dense appreciation of all things grilled. Grillers looking to broaden their repertoire are likely to find more than a few new standards here.”
Tavis Smiley talks with Ali Sethi, author of The Wish Maker (Riverhead, 978-1594488757, $25.95; Penguin Audio unabridged CD, $39.95). PW said “The turbulence of contemporary Pakistani politics is refracted through the intimate prism of a fractious extended family in this mature debut, written when the author was 23.”
Due to the nature of live programming, scheduling is subject to change.
