Skip Prichard, president and CEO of the Ingram Content Group that was formed last month through the integration of the Ingram Book Group, Lightning Source and Ingram Digital, has announced the new structure of the company. The new organization is aligned into two group--the content group that will serve publishers and the commercial group that will serve retailers and libraries. Phil Ollila has been named chief content officer and will head of the content unit, while Shawn Everson has been named chief commercial officer and will lead the commercial side.
The content unit will include Lightning Source, Ingram Publisher Services, Ingram Digital’s CoreSource, the Ingram Marketing Group and the book buying department. David Taylor remains head of Lightning and adds additional responsibility for acquisition of all publisher content, regardless of format. Mark Ouimet takes over as head of IPS. In the commercial group, Rich Rosy will head up all the library business, including Ingram Library Services, MyiLibrary and Coutts. Dan Sheehan, v-p of sales for Ingram Book Field Sales, will now also oversee Ingram Periodicals.
Prichard said the new alignment reflects Ingram's desire to adopt a more market focused approach to meeting the needs of its customers. He said the goal of the restructuring is to make it easier for its customers to do business with the company, explaining that ultimately he would like customer to have one primary contact at the wholesaler.
