Tomorrow, he’ll appear on both The View and The Daily Show.
This morning, Today hosted John Grisham, whose Ford County: Stories (Doubleday, 978-0385532457, $24; RH Audio unabridged CD, $35) likewise pubs today.
Authors on today’s Good Morning America:
- Joel Osteen predicted It's Your Time: Activate Your Faith, Achieve Your Dreams, and Increase in God's Favor (Free Press, 978-1439100110, $25; S&S Audio abridged CD, $29.99), which comes out today. Tomorrow, he visits The View.
- Jeni Stepanek, author of Messenger: The Legacy of Mattie J.T. Stepanek and Heartsongs (Dutton; 978-0525951421; $25.95; SpringWater unabridged CD, $36.99), another title released today.
Both The Early Show and On the Record with Greta Van Susteren host reporters Scott Conroy and Shushannah Walshe, whose Sarah from Alaska (PublicAffairs, 978-1586487881, $26.95) is in stores today.
The View chatted with Ivanka Trump, author of The Trump Card: Playing to Win in Work and Life (Touchstone, 978-1439140017, $24.99; S&S Audio abridged CD, $29.99). PW’s review had this to say: “Trump is straightforward and fully self-aware, realizing that readers will dismiss her achievements as simple nepotism; as such, she owns her privilege, acknowledges her advantages and then sets about disabusing readers of their presumptions with intelligent, well-conceived, positive advice; unbridled ambition; and a strong measure of graciousness and humility.”
On The Diane Rehm Show, Lee Eisenberg expressed Shoptimism: Why the American Consumer Will Keep on Buying No Matter What (Free Press, 978-0743296250, $26). PW’s review had this to say: “Although a thorough compendium of today's marketplace, the author's friendly come along with me tone sometimes devolves into glibness, and in accepting conditions as is, his observations might prove as fleeting as buyer's remorse.”
Bonnie Hunt interviewed John Irving, author of Last Night in Twisted River (Random House, 978-1400063840, $28; RH Audio unabridged CD, $60). PW’s review found it “a scattershot novel, the overriding themes, locations and sensibilities of which will probably neither surprise longtime fans nor win over the uninitiated. With conflict this meandering and characters this limp, reflexive gestures come off like nostalgia and are bound to leave readers wishing Irving had detached himself even more.”
The Martha Stewart Show heard financial tips from Jim Cramer, whose latest is Jim Cramer's Getting Back to Even (S&S, 978-1439158012, $26; S&S Audio abridged CD, $29.99).
Tonight, Tavis Smiley talks with Nomi Prins, former Goldman Sachs managing director turned muckraking journalist, whose book is It Takes a Pillage: Behind the Bailouts, Bonuses, and Backroom Deals from Washington to Wall Street (Wiley, 978-0470529591, $25.95).
The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson chats with British comedian Stephen Fry, whose Stephen Fry in America: Fifty States and the Man Who Set Out to See Them All (William Morrow, 978-0061456381, $34.99) pubs today.
Due to the nature of live programming, scheduling is subject to change.
