Following in the footsteps of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, and The Witches, another of Roald Dahl’s much-loved stories—Fantastic Mr. Fox—heads to the big screen on November 13, reimagined as a stop-motion animated feature from Twentieth Century Fox. And the A-list team behind the project is as fantastic as the title character himself. The film is an adaptation of Dahl’s story, first published by Knopf in 1970, about a clever fox and his family, who outwit a trio of farmers.
The movie is the first animated project for director Wes Anderson (The Royal Tenenbaums), who co-wrote the screenplay with Noah Baumbach (The Squid and the Whale). Lending their voices for the film’s characters are George Clooney (Mr. Fox) and Meryl Streep (Mrs. Fox), as well as Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe, and Owen Wilson.
