Donato Promoted, Killick Resigns at Penguin

Mariann Donato, v-p of sales at Penguin Putnam Books for Young Readers, will assume the newly created title of v-p of sales and marketing for the division. The job had previously been divided into two positions. Doug Whiteman, president of Penguin Putnam BFYR, declined to give reasons for the restructured position, but said that no other changes in the sales and marketing departments are planned.
As a result of the change, Angus Killick resigned as v-p of marketing; his last day with the company will be April 13. Donato will report to Dick Heffernan, president of hardcover sales at Penguin Putnam, for sales and to Whiteman for marketing.
