Jess Bell, 72

Jess Bell, a former associate director of Stanford University Press, died of a heart attack April 7 at age 72. Bell joined Stanford as an editor following active duty during the Korean War and served on numerous AAUP committees as well as on its board of directors. He retired in 1985.
